Lawrence, Kan. --- San José State University middle distance runner Jennifer Beckingham and long jumper Cambree Harbaugh ended their 2016 outdoor track and field season at the NCAA Division I Women’s Track & Field Championships West Preliminaries hosted by the University of Kansas. Makayla Webb also competed on Friday but has one more event to look forward to in her second trip to the NCAA’s west prelims.
Harbaugh, from Meridian Idaho, placed 40th with a 5.56 meter jump on her third and final attempt. A mark of 6.01 meters was needed to finish in the top-12 and advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., June 8-11.
Beckingham, a graduate student from Southampton, England, finished 42nd in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:14.25. A time of 2:06.97 was good enough for the 12th and final spot in the upcoming NCAA Championships.
