Austin, Texas --- Nicole Iloanya's personal-record in the triple jump was one of a handful of highlights for the San José State women's outdoor track and field team at the Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas on Saturday.

Iloanya's jump of 12.79 meters is the longest of the year in the Mountain West Conference and put her inside the NCAA West Region's top-10 this season. The mark is also a San José State school-record, and helped SJSU to a ninth place finish out of 18 teams.

The Spartans saw two personal-records Saturday in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Rebecca Garcia clocked an 11:11.05 which also dropped the school record for the event. Lalida Maokhampiou was close behind for her personal-record time of 11:12.30.

"This team has grown a lot," said Spartans' head coach Jeff Petersmeyer. "We have a lot of freshman that have gained experience through the indoor season and now in the outdoor season. We are more battle tested facing teams like the ones we did today, and that's great for us moving forward."

Makayla Webb clocked an SJSU-record 13.96 in the 100-hurdles, giving her a new personal-record and another top-10 time in the conference. Kelsey Johnson-Upshaw also got in the personal-record mix with her 12.13 in the 100-meter dash.

"These are great times for Makayla and Kelsey," Petersmeyer said. "It seems like every week Makayla puts down a new PR. She works hard with coach Watson and she keeps getting faster and faster."

The Longhorn Invitational served as San José State's final tune-up before the Mountain West Championship in San Diego, Calif., coming up on May 13-16.

"I think we are in a good spot," Petersmeyer said. "We are more battle-tested after facing teams like the ones we faced today. We've continued to get faster and we have another week ahead to prepare for the championship."
