Cerritos, Calif. --- The San Jose State women’s track & field team finished its fourth straight day of competition in Southern California meets which was highlighted by even more personal records.
A number of personal records and even some school records have been set this week and Saturday at the Beach Invitational it was Natalia Gutierrez and Kolbi Sims’ turn.
Gutierrez cleared the bar in the high jump at 1.70 meters for a new personal record while Sims clocked a 14.41 in the 100-hurdles for a PR of her own.
Sims had already achieved a new personal record in the heptathlon at the Mt. SAC Relays/CA Invitational on Friday before today’s result.
“Overall this was a solid weekend and some of our athletes came away with really nice PRs,” said SJSU director of track & field Jeff Petersmeyer. “Looking back on the week, our distance runners had some nice times and there were even more PRs for our sprints group.”
The Spartans have a week of training before competing in their next meet, the Bulldog Invitational, hosted by Fresno State on April 22.
