Times Continue to Improve for Spartans At Distance Carnival

San Francisco, Calif. - In the second day of the San Francisco State Distance Festival, the San José State track and field team continued to lower their times and improve on personal bests.

Raven Adams, who ran a 14.41 in the 100 meters two weeks ago on San Francisco State’s Cox Stadium track, lowered her time to 14.13 on Saturday and finished in 40th place. 

In her first race at 100 meters, Madiha Raza was the Spartans best placed finisher.  She crossed the line in 13.21 in 23rd place.  Also in their first competition at this distance, Madison Fowler finished in 14.06 (39th place), Joetta Hall in 14.57 (41st place) and Jennifer Topps in 17.07 (43rd place).

In San José State’s final event of the meet, the 200 meters, Raza finished in 27.40 and improvement of nearly half a second over her time from two weeks ago in the Johnny Mathis Invitational.  She finished in 33rd place.
