More Career-Bests For Spartans At Air Force Invitational

USAFA, Colo. --- Cambree Harbaugh topped all collegiate long jumpers, Kolbi Sims has a new collegiate best mark and three Spartans are headed to semifinals in sprints and hurdles after the first day of the Air Force Invitational.
"We had a few solid performances today," said Director of Track & Field Jeff Petersmeyer. "Cambree jumped a career-best indoor or outdoor in the long jump and Kolbi had a college PR. The big event for us tomorrow will be the triple jump."
Harbaugh jumped 6.09 meters in the long jump for her new career-best mark. It is the first time she has cracked six meters indoors. The junior from Meridian, Idaho was the top collegiate jumper. Destiny Longmire finished fourth in the same event with a distance of 5.93 meters and Kelsey Johnson-Upshaw jumped 5.77 meters to finish sixth in the field of 20. Sims jumped 5.63 meters in the long jump which is a new collegiate best. She finished in eighth place.
Sims was also in the high jump on Friday where she cleared 1.60 meters. Teammate Natalie Gutierrez finished with the same height.
Longmire and Johnson-Upshaw also qualified for the 60-meter dash semifinals taking place tomorrow. Sims will compete in the semifinal of the 60-meter hurdles.
