Childs & Sims Finish SJSU's First Women's Pentathlon

After being SJSU's lone multis athlete during the 2015 outdoor season, Kolbi Sims will join her for the 2016 indoor season multi events.

Ed Jacoby Day 1 Results Get Acrobat Reader

Boise, Idaho --- San José State's Jade Childs and Kolbi Sims finished third and fourth respectively in the women's pentathlon on day one of the Ed Jacoby Invitational on Friday. It was the first time in which the women's track program had an entry in a pentathlon event.
 
Childs ended the event with 3,401 total points. She clocked an 8.95 in the 60-hurdles and jumped 5.44 meters in the long jump event. She also threw the shot put 10.90 meters.
 
Sims finished with 3,296 total points. She ran personal-record time of 9.51 in the 60-hurdles, and notched another PR with her 9.60 meter shot put toss. Sims also clocked a time of 2:40.37 in the 800-meter dash, and cleared the bar at 1.65 meters in the high jump.
 
Childs and Sims will be in action again tomorrow alongside teammate Cambree Harbaugh for the final day of the Ed Jacoby Invitational.
