Kelley Watson was appointed as an assistant coach for the men's and women's cross country and women's track teams in August 2013.
Before coming to San Jose State Watson was Boise State's men's and women's assistant track coach from 2008 through the 2013 season. She worked directly with the sprinters and hurdlers and helped the men's indoor team to Western Athletic Conference titles in 2009 and 2011.
10 sprint and hurdle school records were broken with Watson as the assistant coach, and 12 student-athletes were NCAA first-round qualifiers.
At Boise State, Watson also served as the director of operations for the track programs and headed the recruiting efforts for all sprinters and hurdlers. She was Boise State's director of operations whenthe programhosted the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships.
Prior to coaching at Boise State, Watson spent four years as a high school biology teacher. From 2005 through 2007 she designed and taught coursework for Dade County Public Schools in North Miami, Fla. In 2007-08 she was a biology teacher for the Oakland Unified School District while also serving as a mentor and advisor.
The Milpitas, Calif., native graduated from CSU Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts in biology in 2005.
