The San Jose State women's tennis team will play in their second and final tournament of the fall season at the Wilson/ITA Northwest Regional on October 23-26. The annual tournament will be hosted by Stanford University, and play will be held at the Taube Tennis Center on the Stanford campus.
Head Coach Anh-Dao Nguyen-Church has announced the following as the San Jose State entries for the tournament: Olivia Marshall, Anna Guzman, Kerri Kummer, Megan Kummer, Jennifer Williams, Chau Truong, and Sandra Florea.
The Wilson/ITA Northwest Regional is an individual tournament much like the Saint Mary's Invitational which the Spartans competed in just one week ago. Coach Nguyen-Church looks forward to seeing how her team competes after getting their chance to settle into a tournament atmosphere.
"It will be interesting to see how the freshmen respond this week after they gained some experience at the Saint Mary's Invitational. They should be somewhat more relaxed and have a better idea of what to expect when they step on the court."
This tournament will be the last action that tennis sees until they begin their spring season at the end of January, 2010.
