The San Jose State women's tennis team will compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association North-Western Championships hosted by Stanford this October 21-25.
The tournament will host these ITA regional schools: California, Cal Poly, Fresno State, Pacific, University of Portland, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, San Francisco, San Jose State, Santa Clara, Stanford UC Davis, Washington and Washington State.
The top-two singles finalists and the doubles champion of this regional tournament will earn a berth in the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships in Flushing, NY November 3-6.
San Jose State head coach Sylvain Malroux announced the lineup for the tournament: Sabastiani Leon Chao, Chau Truong, Alexis Marquez, Isadora Busch, Sandra Florea, Jessica Willett, Emily Prescott, and Erica Medlin.
Last year Truong posted two wins at the ITA Regional in Stanford. She is coming off three singles match victories and a bracket semifinal appearance at the Saint Mary’s Invitational. Florea earned a win in a consolation semifinal match in Moraga, which was her first tournament of the fall season.
Matches will begin inside the Taube Family Tennis Stadium at Stanford on Friday morning, October 21.
