Dual Season Ends With Slugs

San Jose State record: 6-12, 0-3 WAC. Heading into the final math of the year, the Spartans have lost nine of their last ten contests including three straight in WAC play. San Jose State's last win was on the road against Cal State L.A., 5-4 on April 9.

UC Santa Cruz record: 6-8. The Slugs head into this match on a three-game winning streak. They defeated Trinity University, Mary Hardin and UT-Dallas all in a round robin tournament in San Antonio, Texas on March 24-26.

Last Meeting: San Jose State beat UC Santa Cruz, 7-0 back on February 8, 2011 in the team's opening match of the dual season. All but one singles match was settled in straight sets.

Leaders: Chau Truong leads the Spartans in singles with a 12-6 record including a 7-3 record at No. 3. Sabastiani Leon Chao and Sandra Florea are the leading doubles pair for the Spartans at 11-6.

WAC Tournament: The Western Athletic Conference tournament will be held April 28-March 1. Unlike last year, all nine WAC teams will have a spot in the competition. San Jose State is eager to return to the conference championship after failing to make the tournament in 2009-10.
