San Jose, Calif. --- For the sixth time this season, the San Jose State women’s tennis team is nationally ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Rankings (ITA), staying ranked #66 in the April 9 NCAA Division I poll.
The Spartans (14-5, 6-1 WAC) went 1-1 in two conference dual matches held at Utah State. The Spartans had a seven-match win streak and an undefeated WAC record after San Jose State defeating Utah State 4-0, but their streak ended after losing, 4-3, to the #61-University of Denver.
Individually, sophomore Klaudia Boczova is #47 ranked in the singles rankings. Last week, she was 2-0 in singles match playdefeating McKenzie Davis of Utah State, 7-6, 6-3 and Sophia Bergner of Denver, 6-2, 6-4.
The Spartans travel to Moscow, Idaho, to conclude conference match play on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13.
On Friday, San Jose State goes head-to-head against UTSA (6-11, 1-5 WAC). The match begins at 10:00 a.m. The Spartans complete the weekend facing the University of Idaho (9-10, 2-3 WAC) on April 13 at 3:00 p.m.
