RUSTON, La.---The San Jose State women's tennis team was shut out, 7-0 by Boise State on April 9, and drops to 10-11 overall and 0-4 in the Western Athletic Conference.
Olivia Marshall kept up with Pichittra Thongdach throughout the first set, but was unable to finish on top, 6-4, 6-1.
Kerri Kummer bounced back after being shut out in the first set to nearly force a third against Bianca Jochimsen. Kummer however, was unable to pull it out late in the set, and lost, 6-0, 6-4.
The rest of the Spartan singles: Chau Truong, Sandra Florea, Anna Guzman, and Jennifer Williams all lost in straight sets.
Marshall and Williams were San Jose State's best effort in the doubles competition. They came up short against Rocio Frej and Marlena Pietzuch, 8-5.
"We all hit the ball well," said head coach Anh-Dao Nguyen-Church. "Boise State is a very tough and talented team."
San Jose State takes on Louisiana Tech tomorrow, at 7:00 a.m. PST and will look to get their first conference win of the season.
