Tennis Falls To Fresno State & New Mexico State

The San Jose State women’s tennis team concluded their weekend in Reno dropping its final two matches to Fresno State and New Mexico State, 7-0, in each match.

        Against Fresno State, Anna Guzman and Olivia Marshall had the best score in doubles for the Spartans in their loss to Laura Pola and Bruna Paes, 8-3.

        All San Jose State singles players - Amber Silverstone, Olivia Marshall, Kerri Kummer, Anna Guzman, Jennifer Williams, and Sanda Hadzisabic lost in straight sets.

        Against New Mexico State, freshman Kerri Kummer forced a first set tiebreaker against Aleksa Costa, but lost, 7-6(3), 6-2.  The remaining five singles positions for San Jose State lost in straight sets as well.

        San Jose State drops its 2009 record to 10-11 (0-4 WAC), and returns home to face Hawai’i on Tuesday April 7.
