Tennis Falls Against Utah State

SAN JOSE, Calif.---The San Jose State women's tennis team dropped to 10-8, 0-2 WAC, with their, 6-1, loss to WAC opponent Utah State on April 2.

     Jennifer Williams defeated Britney Watts in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1 for the Spartans' only point on the afternoon.

     Chau Truong led 5-2 in the first set over Jaclyn West, but was unable to keep her lead. Truong dropped the set and the match, 7-6 (2), 6-1.

     Olivia Marshall, Anna Guzman, Kerri Kummer, and Sandra Florea all lost in straight sets for San Jose State as well.

     "We fought hard but Utah State was the better team at the end of the day," said Spartans' head coach Anh-Dao Nguyen-Church.

     San Jose State hits the courts again at the Spartan Tennis Complex tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. against Fresno State.
