SAN JOSE, Calif. – San José State’s women’s tennis team plays its third match in the last six days when it hosts No. 69 UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m.

For San José State (7-4), which dropped out of the national rankings despite going 1-1 in last week’s matches, Wednesday will mark the finale of a six-match homestand. The Spartans are 3-2 over that stretch, and the Gauchos will be the third nationally-ranked opponent the Spartans have hosted.

UC Santa Barbara (7-6) enters the week having won six of its last eight matches. The Gauchos played a grueling schedule in January and dropped its first three matches of the season to USC, Utah and Oklahoma before finding their groove in February, when they went 5-2.

San José State’s top doubles duo of Marie Klocker and Gaelle Rey will have their work cut out for them Wednesday. UC Santa Barbara boasts the 11th-ranked doubles tandem in the country in Paline Dubavets and Stefani Stojic, who are 7-1 in dual matches this spring.
