DAVIS, Calif.---The San Jose State women's tennis team was a victim of a 7-0 sweep by the opposing UC Davis Aggies on March 11.
Anna Guzman split the first two sets with Lauren Curry but fell short in a super tie breaker and lost the match, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5).
Kerri Kummer forced a third set against Desiree Stone, and though she held a 5-0 lead at one point, Kummer could not close out the match and lost, 6-1, 2-6, 7-5.
The rest of the San Jose State singles players: Olivia Marshall, Chau Truong, Sandra Florea and Jennifer Williams all lost in straight sets.
San Jose State was unable to win any of the three matches in doubles competition on the afternoon.
"Despite the score being 7-0, I was happy to see Anna, Kerri, and Chau give their opponents a fight," said the Spartans' head coach Anh-Dao Nguyen-Church.
The team will have a day off tomorrow before they play back-to-back matches at home on March 13, and 14, against Nevada and Marquette University.
