Women's Tennis Hosts UC Davis

After matches at Santa Clara and Sonoma State, the San Jose State (3-1) women’s tennis team will return home to face the UC Davis Aggies (5-7) on February 24.

            The Spartans went 1-1 on their trip, with a 6-1 loss to Santa Clara followed by a 6-3 victory against the Seawolves of Sonoma State. 

            Against Santa Clara, junior Jennifer Williams showed her ability to come from behind when she beat her opponent, Courtney Hull, 0-6, 7-6(3) 10-5.  In the following day’s match, senior Amber Silverstone battled her way to a tough singles victory against her SSU opponent, Stephanie Luk, 6-4, 6-1.

            UC Davis has lost its last three matches to UC Irvine, Cal State Northridge, and University of San Francisco.  This match against San Jose State will be the Aggies’ fifth straight away match.

            On February 4 in the Spartans' home opener, they defeated UC Santa Cruz 7-0.
