Women's Tennis At Sonoma State Postponed

The San Jose State women’s tennis team will take their 2-0 record on the road to Sonoma State (2-0) Friday, February 20 at 2 p.m.  The first of two meetings between these schools originally scheduled for February 17 is postponed due to weather conditions.

After starting out with two 7-0 victories over Cal State Bakersfield and UC Santa Cruz, the Spartans will head to Sonoma with high hopes for their third win.

The Seawolves of Sonoma State are also off to a 2-0 start with victories over The Academy of Art, (6-3) and UC Santa Cruz, (8-1).

Freshman Kerri Kummer, and Sophomore Anna Guzman of San Jose State have gotten off to a fast start, only dropping four set points between the two of them in singles play over the last two matches.

In the Spartans’ last match against UC Santa Cruz, Kummer showed her ability to focus as she dropped the first set to her opponent and then won the next six points to cap off a straight set victory, 6-1 6-1.
