The San José State University women’s tennis team travels to Southern California to take on a pair of Big West opponents when it visits UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The Spartans (3-4) enter the weekend coming off a tough weekend in the Midwest in which they dropped a pair of matches to No. 46 Illinois and No. 47 DePaul. San José State is halfway through a stretch of six consecutive road matches leading up to a March 10 date with Southern Utah at Spartan Courts.

Freshman Malin Cubukcu leads the Spartans with a 5-2 record out of the No. 6 singles spot and has won five consecutive matches since starting the spring 0-2.

Senior Jessica Willett leads the Spartans in doubles play, combining with fellow senior Julianna Bacelar and Cubukcu to post a 3-2 record out of the No. 3 slot in the lineup.
