Tennis Takes on #46 Cal Poly

San Jose, Calif. –

The San Jose State women’s tennis team will hit the road to play the 46th-ranked Cal Poly Mustangs Saturday, February 11. The Spartans seek their second road win of the year. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since a 7-0 Cal Poly victory two years ago, on February 26, 2010.

San Jose State record: 1-2. The Spartans are coming off of two home losses to Santa Clara, 7-0, and Oregon, 5-2. San Jose State is being lead by a pair of young players. Sophomore Sabastiani Leon Chao and freshman Erica Medlin are both 2-1 in singles duel competition this season.

#46 Cal Poly record: 3-1. The Mustangs will play following their first loss this season, 7-0 to the #4 UCLA Bruins. Sophomore Jennifer Cornea is 3-1 in duel match play for Cal Poly who is unbeaten at home since April 2, 2010. 

Play will begin this Saturday, February 11, at 10:00 a.m. from the Mustang Courts, San Luis Obispo, Calif.
