STANFORD, Calif. – San José State’s women’s tennis team wrapped up its second-to-last fall tournament with one doubles match and three singles matches Sunday at the Taube Family Tennis Center.
Marie Klocker and Miyo Kobayashi, the last remaining Spartans in a main draw, got the day started with a hard-fought 8-7 loss in the round of 16 to Olivia Huager and Klara Fabikova of Cal.
In consolation singles play, Marine Dans notched a three set win over Cal Poly’s Emily Gibbens to pick up her sixth singles win of the fall. Gaelle Rey and Justine Deleval found themselves on the opposite end of three-set affairs with Rana Sherif Ahmed of Fresno State and Bryn Bacharach of Cal Poly, respectively.
The Spartans conclude their fall slate when they participate in the Santa Clara Invitational Nov. 6-8, hosted by Santa Clara University.
