CHICAGO - San José State's women's tennis, playing its second match in as many days, fell to No. 47 DePaul, 6-1, Sunday afternoon at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness.

The loss drops the Spartans to 3-4 overall on the spring, with all four losses coming on the road against ranked opponents. For the Blue Demons, the win brings them to 5-2 on the year and marks their fifth consecutive victory since starting the spring 0-2.

The doubles tandem of Sybille Gauvain and Malin Cubukcu picked up a win at the No. 2 spot in the lineup, downing DePaul's Ana Vladutu and Zaina Sufi. The victory would not be enough, however, as the Spartans conceded the doubles point and the early lead.

Freshman Malin Cubukcu notched the lone Spartans' point on the day with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over DePaul senior Rebeca Mitrea.

Up next for San José State is another weekend double dip, with visits to UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly on the docket next Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
