San Jose, Calif. - The San Jose State women's swimming and diving team is ranked sixth in the nation in the latest rankings among Division I Mid-Major programs as announced by CollegeSwimming.com.
The Spartans are the highest of three Western Athletic Conference teams which made the December 20th rankings. New Mexico State is 17th, and Fresno State is 24th.
The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), who vote in the poll, ranked Miami (Ohio) first with 259.6 points, Princeton (250.7) was second, Harvard (244.3) third, Denver (243.3) fourth and Navy (241.9) fifth ahead of the Spartans who received 240.2 points.
This is the second consecutive collegeswimming.com/CSCAA poll in which San Jose State has been ranked in the top-10. Future polls will be released on January 12, February 9 and March 9.
