Spartans 4th After Day 1 At Arena Invite

Long Beach, Calif. --- Senior Julia Craddock had a school record-setting day leading San Jose State University to fourth place on day one of the Arena Invitational women's swimming meet.

Craddock broke the 200-yard IM mark of 2:01.94 set by Heather Denman in 2011 first in the preliminaries and later in the event championship final. Craddock placed fifth in her morning swim at 2:01.92. In the final, she finished seventh with a better time of 2:01.91.

At the end of the meet, Craddock teamed up with teammates Haley Smith, Amanda Buxbaum, and Kiley Foster in the 400-yard medley relay and posted an exhibition time of 3:48.79.

"Overall, we had a strong first day," said head coach Sage Hopkins. "We are very excited for tomorrow which is a very strong day for us."

The Arena Invitational continues Friday, November 16 and concludes November 17..
