Seeing our program grow has been the best experience. This has been the most exciting season for me in the past four years that I have been a part of this team. This year’s freshmen have been doing very well, which is a positive motivation for the rest of us. Our training these past couple of months have been challenging, but it’s well worth it. With our new CrossFit workouts, it has just been a test of our limits both mentally and physically. We are all positive and supportive of each other, which really brings us closer together in and out of the pool.

Our latest competition was two weeks ago in Santa Cruz, as we defeated both Fresno State and UCSC, putting our record at 7-1. We had set goals going into the meet and came out accomplishing all of them. The girls swam well and we had fun being there with everyone. Fresno State is a new team in our conference, so it was nice to meet them and have a chance to compete against each other.

This Saturday is our first home meet of the season, and it will be against Boise State. We are excited and pumped to be racing a team that just started their program not too long ago, and on the rise. Last year was the first time we competed against Boise. The first day was a standard meet and the second day was a relay meet. After last year, we learned that we have to be tough no matter what and step up our game. It will be an awesome meet, so hope to see you all there to support us.
