SAN JOSE STATE (0-1) HOSTS WAC SHOOTOUT
San Jose State was the only one of seven teams to go undefeated at the inaugural WAC Shootout a year ago in Las Cruces, N.M. The Wolf Pack, now two-time defending WAC champions, finished at 4-1.
This year, Fresno State and Hawai'i are competing in the WAC Shootout for the first time, as is non-conference foe UC Davis, on Saturday only. Alongside San Jose State and Nevada, Boise State and New Mexico State are returning competitors. New Mexico State was 3-2 a year ago, while Boise State was an even 2-2.
Individual events will be scored to five places (1st-9; 2nd-4; 3rd-3; 4th-2; 5th-1). Relays will be scored to three places (1st-11; 2nd-4; 3rd-2). No more than three individuals or two relay foursomes per team can accumulate points in a given event.
