Colorado Springs, Colo. ---- Seniors Amy Kilby and Jessica Holden finished 25th and 46th, respectively, in a 49-diver field for the 3-meter board at the NCAA Zone E Women’s Diving Championships.
Kilby had a six-dive score of 264.55 during the preliminary round; Holden, 222.20 for her six dives. Kilby’s highest scoring dive was her first – a back 1.5 somersault with a 1.5 twist – that netter her a 48.00. Holden had a pair of 43.20 scoring dives on her first two attempts.
A score of 280.20 was necessary to be among the 18 competitors advancing to the event's championship final.
The duo continues diving Friday, March 15, the 1-meter competiiton. The event begins at 11:00 a.m. (MDT) in the U.S. Air Force Academy's Cadet Gym.
