Travel Trips

Travel trips, possibly the best part about being on a swimming and diving team. This past week, we traveled to Bakersfield for a meet, and then continued onward to San Diego for a relay invitational.

Traveling with the team has always been a highlight for myself, and I am sure every one of my teammates. The long hours of sitting in vans, blasting quality music, and the infamous "would you rather" talks, make for great road trip memories. The dinners during which the team dances with the Joe's Crab Shack staff, and hassling the waiters for more bread, brings immense joy to the team. On top of all that, during this trip, we were able to indulge in the beautiful weather of Southern California. No parkas necessary! Along with all of these exciting moments, was the swimming that took place this past weekend. The Bakersfield meet was a great opportunity for everyone to compete in off-events, and simply enjoy racing others.

After our win against the 'Runners, we battled University of San Diego and Tulane University in the relay invitational. During this meet, our team always finds a way to have fun, even though we are competing in countless events in one day. The relays really bring the team together, and winning this meet showed our depth and versatility. Now that our travel trip has concluded, we are back to the grind of double practices every day, until the spring semester begins, with only the thought of the WAC Championship on our minds.

Go Spartans!
