Humel Wins 200 Back; Spartans In Second Place With A Day To Go

Stockton, Calif. ---- San Jose State University’s Colleen Humel was the only first-place finisher on the first evening of the Pacific Invitational women’s swimming and diving meet.

Humel won the 100 back in 56.53 seconds. She was one of two swimmers not from host Pacific to finished first. BYU’s Vanessa Moffatt was first in the 200 butterfly.

Humel’s win helped to a second-place start in the team standings. The Spartans had 344 points. Host Pacific leads the team scoring with 398.50.

The two-meet resumes Saturday, October 28, at 10:00 a.m.
