San Jose, Calif.Cari Reiswig set a new school record in the 3-meter springboard with a score of 345.85, as the San José State women’s swimming and diving team downed UC Santa Cruz and Simon Fraser at The Aquatic Center.

“We had a long, long day,” said San Jose State diving coach Mark Butcher. “Some pretty tough conditions this morning, then they came back in front of a really big crowd and gave a great performance. I’m really proud of what the girls have done, and we’re looking forward to the Trojan Invite in a couple weeks.”

Reiswig also continued her strong diving in the one-meter platform, finishing with a score of 301.45. Fellow freshman diver Marissa O’Quinn also had a strong showing, qualifying for the NCAA Zone E Regionals in March in both the one and three-meter springboard. O’Quinn posted scores of 295.45 and 275.32, respectively.

In the pool, the Spartans were led by Riley Spitser. Spitser finished in the top spot in the 1000 free and the 500 free with times of 10:18.99 and 5:03.69, respectively.

The Spartan divers return to the pool on November 7-9, 2014 at the Trojan Invitational in Los Angeles, Calif. hosted by the University of Southern California.
