Pridmore Named WAC Pitcher Of The Week

Denver-After breaking the San Jose State career saves record over the weekend, junior pitcher Amanda Pridmore has been rewarded for her performances by being named the Western Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

 

Pridmore pitched in four relief appearances last week, posting a 0.00 ERA with 11 strikeouts in 9.1 innings pitched and three saves, and in the process became the San Jose State career saves leader with 10.  She tied the record on Friday against UC Santa Barbara, broke the record against James Madison and added to the record against Cal Poly.  Pridmore's three saves this season already ties for the fourth-best total on the San Jose State single-season list.

 

After missing last season due to a knee injury, Pridmore leads the pitching staffthis season with a 6-4 record in 15 appearances.  She has pitched seven complete games and struck out 71 batters in 69 innings pitched.

 

San Jose State returns to action this weekend at the Gaucho Classic II to face Wisconsin, Oklahoma State and UC Santa Barbara.
