Softball Loses Final Game of Kajikawa Classic

Tempe, Ariz.-San Jose State was held to just three hits and committed four errors Sunday afternoon as the Spartans fell to #13 Arizona State, 11-3, in the team's final game of the Kajikawa Classic.

The Spartans started the game with a run in the top of the first inning as Britney Helm led off the game with a single to left field.  She eventually scored on a Jessica Garcia sacrifice fly to right center field.

The team added two runs in the top of the fifth inning.  With two outs and two on, Alex Stange and Sadie Coenen, each singled in the inning, scored unearned runs on an Arizona State error.

The Spartans play three doubleheaders next weekend in their next competitions.  The team plays doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday at Cal State Bakersfield beginning at 12 p.m.  San Jose State then opens the home portion of the schedule next Sunday, February 20 with two games against Santa Clara at SJSU Field starting at 12 p.m.
