SAN JOSE, Calif.—The San Jose State University women’s soccer team fell to Sacramento State, 3-0, in its final game of the year November 3 at Spartan Stadium.

The Hornets (3-13-1) used three-second half goals to secure their third victory of the season. The tandem of Katie DeClercq and Lisa Wrightsman gave Sacramento State all their offence on the afternoon. DeClercq scored the Hornets' first goal in the 78th minute with the assist going to Wrightsman. The Hornets' final two goals came from Wrightsman with the assists coming from DeClercq.

The Spartans (3-11-5, 1-4-2 WAC) were out shot by the Hornets on the afternoon 14-10.

For the entire first half and for the most part of the second neither team was able to get a decent scoring chance. With just under 13 minutes to play the Hornets caught the Spartan goalie out of the box and a lob pass by Lisa Wrightsman found the head of Katie DeClercq for the game’s first goal.
