Women's Soccer: Spartans Drop 2-0 Decision to Santa Clara

    SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University Broncos scored two goals in the final 15 minutes of regulation to hand San Jose State University a 2-0 loss in a non-conference women's soccer game tonight at Buck Shaw Stadium.

    Kerry Cathcard broke the ice at the 75:42 mark when she scored on a pass from Veronica Zepeda. Kristi Candau added the insurance goal about 6 minutes later for Santa Clara (12-6-1).

    San Jose State slipped to 7-12-1 overall with the loss. The Spartans are in Fresno Thursday for the Western Athletic Conference Championships. SJSU plays UTEP at 5:00 p.m. in the first game of the tournament.
