Kristina Jacob Named to All-Conference Team

Senior midfielder Kristina Jacob was selected to the All-Conference Team in the Western Athletic Conference women’s soccer postseason awards today.

Jacob finished the season as the Spartans leading scorer and was a dominant force during conference matches with five goals and four assists on the season. All five goals and three of Jacob’s assists came during conference games. As one of the three team captains, Jacob’s playing ability and leadership will be missed next season.

"Her play making ability will definitely be missed next season," said Spartan head coach Tammie Grimes, "I knew she had a great shot at this award, she really saw the importance of conference play and it showed."

Jacob started in 61 of the 76 games she played scoring 13 goals and seven assists during her four-year career. Last season Jacob helped the Spartans win the WAC Championship and was named the tournament’s "Most Valuable Player" as the Spartans advanced to the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Jacob is majoring in kinesiology and is a three-time letterwinner at San Jose State University.
