Women's soccer unable to secure road win after falling at Gonzaga, 1-0

Spokane, Wash.---The San Jose State women’s soccer team (2-6-1) was shut out, 1-0, by the Gonzaga Bulldogs (5-4-0) Sunday afternoon in Spokane, Washington. The Spartans are winless after three games of this current five-game road trip.

The game's only goal came in the 69th minute off the foot of Gonzaga’s Annie Hawkins.

San Jose State was outshot 12-8 for the game and was unable to put any attempts past Bulldog goalkeeper Ashley Haugen who recorded four saves. Spartan goalie Erin Lavey had six saves in the contest.

The Spartans head back on the road as they open Western Athletic Conference play on Friday, October 4 with a visit to Tulsa University and then meet Rice University on October 6. The Spartans host UTEP on October 11 for the team's WAC home opener.
