Women's soccer looks to build on first win with pair of league games

The San Jose State University women's soccer team continues the 2005 Western Athletic Conference slate with a pair of games in the week ahead, both against teams which it has never faced before. The Spartans (1-10-2, 1-1 WAC) first host Utah State (4-6-3, 1-0 WAC) on Friday, October 14, in a match beginning at 7:00 p.m. inside Spartan Stadium. San Jose State then flies to Ruston, La., on Saturday, to take on Louisiana Tech on Sunday, October 16, at 12:00 p.m. Both Utah State and Louisiana Tech are newcomers to the WAC this season, with Louisiana Tech’s program in just its second year of existence.

San Jose State got its first win of 2005 on Sunday, October 9, blanking Idaho, 2-0, in its WAC home opener inside Spartan Stadium. The Spartans scored first in a game for the sixth time this season, and were able to hang on for the duration. Freshmen Liz Behlen and Jennifer Guadagnolo were the goalscorers.
