Boise, Idaho-Christina Morrison scored in the 81st minute, and the Spartan defense held in overtime as the San Jose State women's soccer team tied Boise State 1-1 in double overtime Sunday afternoon in a Western Athletic Conference match.

Morrison scored off of a Kirstin Tanaka pass from the left side of the box. Morrison shot the ball into the lower right side of the goal to tie the match at 1-1.

Boise State scored in the 31st minute of the first half as BreeAnn Milligan scored on an Annie Tom cross. Tom sent a hard cross into the San Jose State box, and Millian slid for the ball, sending it past Spartan goalkeeper Adrienne Herbst.

Both teams had opportunities to scored in the final nine minutes of regulation and the two overtime periods. In the fourth minute of the second overtime, Bronco Brennan lau fired a hard shot at the San Jose State goal, but Spartan defender Jackie Cruz cleared the shot off of the goal line to maintain the tie.

The tie gives San Jose State a 1-0-1 record for the weekend. The last time SJSU opened road WAC play without a loss was during the 2000 season when the team tied at Hawaii (1-1) and defeated Nevada (8-1). That year, the Spartans won the WAC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

“We played great this weekend and with a lot of heart,” said San Jose State women's head coach Dave Siracusa. “We showed a lot of character the final 10 minutes and both overtime periods of the Boise State match. It was some of the best soccer we have played all year. We had many opportunities to win the match.”

San Jose State is now 3-9-1 overall and 1-2-1 in WAC play, while Boise State falls to 8-4-1 overall and 2-0-1 in WAC play. The Spartans host Fresno State next Sunday at 1 p.m., at Spartan Stadium
