Cris Gilmore

Cris Gilmore begins his first season as an assistant coach at San Jose State.

Gilmore has a total of 12 years of coaching experience at the club level and with summer camps. He has been the head coach of three boys teams and assistant coach of three boys teams and a men’s team in The Hague, Netherlands. He also was the coaching director of the Ziemer Brothers Soccer Camps, based in Sebastpool, Calif., held for boys and girls ages 6 to 16 in California and Nevada, and was the coaching director of the Hawai’i Tsunami Summer Camps, four inter-island camps for boys and girls age 6-13. He started his coaching career at the American Global Soccer School as an assistant coach for over 20 youth soccer camps in the Los Angeles area.

Gilmore played four years of soccer at Ohio Wesleyan University. A midfielder, Gilmore’s team advanced to the NCAA Division III Final Four three straight years. After his college career, he played three years of professional soccer in the U.S. then played professionally in Europe.

Gilmore graduated from Ohio Wesleyan in 1993 with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism.
