11 Emily New

SJSU: In her second year at San Jose State. Emily New redshirted last year.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: New played two years at Ohlone College in Fremont, Calif. and set the school’s scoring record with 63 goals and 26 assists. She was named a Western Regional All-American and was an all-conference and all-state pick both years. In her freshman season she set the school’s scoring record with 31 goals and 12 assists, and was named the Coast Conference’s “Offensive Player of the Year.” As a sophomore she broke her own single-season scoring record with 32 goals and 14 assists and was named the conference “Player of the Year.” She was named Ohlone’s “Athlete of the Year” in 1999.

HIGH SCHOOL: New graduated from Granada High School in Livermore, Calif. She was a four-year letterwinner in soccer, was a three-year letterwinner in track and field, lettered twice in tennis and once in softball. She received all-league honors in soccer.

Emily Ann New was born on April 23, 1980, in Livermore, Calif. Her parents are Don and Alice New. She has a brother, Ben, 24. She is majoring in kinesiology and is an SJSU Scholar-Athlete. Her favorite activities include traveling.
