Women's Soccer Travels To Saint Mary's This Week

San Jose, Calif. After splitting a pair of matches against Mountain West Conference opponents, a 3-1 victory at Air Force and a 3-0 loss at San Diego State last weekend, the Spartans will complete their longest streak of road game this year on Friday at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif.

The Gaels (5-4-1) lost to #6 Stanford, 3-0, last Friday, September 26, in Stanford, Calif.   Saint Mary’s is led by Ashley Nied (4 goals, 8 points, 2 game winners) and Stefani Rocco (3 goals, 6 points, 1 game winner).  In net, Tara Larson has played every minute this season.  She has allowed 13 goals while making 51 saves for a 1.25 GAA.

Saint Mary’s leads the all-time series, 7-2-0, and was victorious the last time these two sides met, October 5, 2007 on Spartan Field, taking a 1-0 decision.

The match will be the Spartans last before opening Western Athletic Conference play against Fresno State on October 10 on Spartan Field at 3:00 p.m.
