Women's Soccer Shut Out at San Francisco

San Francisco—After shutting out its first opponent in two seasons, the San Jose State women’s soccer team was shut out Sunday afternoon, falling at San Francisco, 2-0, in a non-conference match.

The Spartans had just four shots, two on goal by Christina Morrison and Kristin Krale. Ashley Afonso and Shannon Leslie each had the other two shots. Spartan goalie Adrienne Herbst played all 90 minutes and made three saves on the day.

San Jose State begins Western Athletic Conference play next weekend, hosting SMU on Friday at 4 p.m., and UTEP next Sunday at 1 p.m. Both matches will be played at Spartan Soccer Field.
