Women's Soccer Falls to #16 Colorado 3-0

Boulder, Colo.—Andrea Puljiz led the Spartans with two shots, but the #16 Colorado women’s soccer team scored three goals in the first period to defeat San Jose State, 3-0, Sunday afternoon at the Colorado Soccer Shootout.

Puljiz’s only shot on goal came at the 11:33 mark of the first period and was saved by Colorado goalie Nikki Resnick. Her other shot of the match came at the 76:28 mark but went high over the goal.

Mariana Mesa and Molly Flanagan took the Spartans other two shots. Goalie Erin Lavey replaced starter Adrienne Herbst at halftime and made only two saves the entire second half while not allowing a goal.

San Jose State falls to 1-7-0 on the season. The Spartans open Western Athletic Conference play this upcoming weekend. The team plays at SMU on Friday and at UTEP on Sunday.
