WOMEN'S SOCCER: Spartans drop 2-1 decision to Washington State

    SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Marietta Boyce scored twice in the second half to give Washington State a 2-1 victory over San Jose State Sunday in a non-conference game.

    Boyce scored at the 68:35 mark and at 74:30. Her second goal came on an header on a corner kick from Beth Childs.

    Brandy Apodaca scored the Spartans' only goal at the 74:50 mark. Apodaca scored from the right side after gaining possession from a WSU player. The goal was Apodaca's fourth of the season.

    The Spartans slipped to 4-4 overall. San Jose State returns home Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. game against UC Irvine at Spartan Stadium.
