STOCKTON, Calif. - Jennifer Mescher scored an unassisted goal at the 66:00 mark in the second half to lift San Jose State University to a 3-2 win over the University of the Pacific in non-conference women's soccer action September 10. The goal was Mescher's first of the season.
Pacific grabbed a 1-0 lead just 4:37 into the game. San Jose State tied it at the 10:17 mark when Jolene Keel scored an unassisted goal. Brandy Apodaca gave the Spartans a 2-1 lead when she scored at 20:50. Pacific tied the score with 13 minutes left in the first half.
San Jose State goalkeeper Eryn Meyer improved to 2-0 on the season. She recorded five saves.
The Spartans outshot Pacific, 17-12, and had 12 shots on goal to five for the Tigers.
San Jose State, now 3-3 on the season, hosts Oregon State Wednesday at
Spartan Stadium beginning at 7:30 p.m.
