Women's Soccer Falls to Saint Mary's 4-0

Moraga, Calif.-The San Jose State women's soccer team took only four shots, two on goal, Friday afternoon as the Spartans lost 4-0 to Saint Mary's at the Saint Mary's Classic in Moraga.

Cori Borja took three of the Spartans' four shots and both of the shots on goal. Shannon Leslie took the other shot for SJSU. Three different Gaels took three shots a piece.

The Spartan defense held Saint Mary's scoreless in the first half and limited the Gaels to just five shots. Adrienne Herbst made just one save in the first half. The second half was a different story for San Jose State.

Saint Mary's scored all four goals in the second half, beginning with McKenna Belzer's goal at 46:13. The Gaels then got goals by Maureen Cindrich (60:24), Angelina Elliott (64:12) and Katie Fagundes (78:13).

The Spartans fall to 1-4 on the season and will take on nationally-ranked California Sunday afternoon at the Saint Mary's Classic at 2:00 p.m.
