Colorado Springs, Colo. --- One day after netting the game-winning goal in the Spartans' 2-1 victory over Sacramento State, freshman forward Darriell Franklin was tabbed the Mountain West's Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

The freshman out of La Harba (Calif.) High School was San José State's leader last week with four points, two goals and three of five shots going on goal.

Franklin scored the equalizer in the first half of San José State's 1-1 draw at UC Santa Barbara last Friday night (8/28). Her game-winner at Sacramento State helped the Spartans to a 1-0-1 record over the weekend, which led the team to an overall record of 2-1-1 through four consecutive road matches to begin the year.

Franklin is San José State's first player of the week honoree in the young 2015 season.
