The women’s soccer match between San José State and Rice scheduled for Friday, September 1, has been cancelled due to travel incapability out of the Houston area as a result of Hurricane Harvey.
The match will not be rescheduled.
“Our thoughts are with the people in Houston and the Rice soccer program during this challenging time,” said Spartans head coach Lauren Hanson.
The women’s soccer program is teaming up with Spartan Football this weekend to help the people of Houston. T-shirts will be on sale at this Saturday’s football game and again on Sunday at the women’s soccer match with all of the proceeds going to the victims of hurricane Harvey.
Sunday’s match against Georgetown begins at 12:00 p.m. (PT) at the Spartan Soccer Complex.
