ANOTHER WEEK, ANOTHER TOURNAMENT TEAM
San José State opened up last week with Santa Clara which went all the way to the quarterfinal of the 2016 NCAA Postseason tournament, and this week they'll take on Eastern Washington which played in the tournament as the Big Sky champions. The Eagles are out to a 2-0-0 start this season with wins over Omaha and South Dakota.

SPARTANS AND GRIZZLIES MEET AFTER LAST YEAR'S DRAW
The Spartans and Grizzlies played 120 long minutes with without a goal last season in the meeting in San Jose ended in a scoreless draw. This year through two matches both squads have scored just once. Sunday's match could be more of the same, or perhaps it could be a match with a burst of offense. Find out when the two teams meet at 1:00 p.m. (MT) on Pluto TV.

SPARTANS OUTLASTED BY NO. 24 SANTA CLARA
Yvette Cuellar's equalizer in the 51st minute at No. 24 Santa Clara set up an exciting second half, and it wasn't until the 88th minute that the Broncos broke through with the game-winning goal. Spartan keeper Ana Calero finished the match with a career-high 10 saves with seven coming in the first half.

EXPERIENCE THE STRIKER CLUB AT SUNDAY HOME GAMES
There is no better way to enjoy matches on Sundays at the Spartan Soccer Complex than from inside the Striker Club. The Striker Club experience includes a ticket to game, access to a private area with shaded seating, two beverages (beers/wine/soda/water) and unlimited helpings of snacks. It's just $25 for ages 21 and older and $10 for 20 and under.

GEAR UP FOR SEPTEMBER
A long homestand during which the Spartans play six consecutive matches at the Spartan Soccer Complex begins on September 1 when SJSU hosts Rice at 2:30 p.m. (PT). The Spartans take on NCAA College Cup semifinalist Georgetown (Sept. 3) and local rivals Cal Poly (Sept. 8) and Saint Mary's (Sept. 15). The final two matches of the homestand are on the opening weekend of Mountain West play during which the Spartans will face Utah State (Sept. 22) and Boise State (Sept. 24).
