Last week, fourth-year senior Roxy Kamal launched our first-ever women's soccer blog here on SJSUSpartans.com. This week, redshirt junior and fellow team co-captain Katie Bonadies provides the second installment. Another local product out of Los Gatos, Calif., and Los Gatos High School, Katie tallied her first two collegiate goals a year ago as a forward and midfielder, and is an art major.

One Week to Go
As the first week of double days comes to a close, the lady Spartans' spirits remain high. We have pushed through the triple days as a part of what some might refer to as "hell week" for women's soccer. Though fatigued from our hard work, we are all infused with energy and motivation as we look forward to the upcoming game against our South Bay rivals, Santa Clara University. As individuals and as a team, we have begun to experience some adversity that foreshadows the road that lies before us, but we start our journey into the fall season encouraged by everything that we have accomplished thus far.
We are coming together as a team faster than any previous season that I have seen while a part of this program. All of us returning players are more anxious than ever before to begin competition in our preseason and conference play. Still driven by the efforts and advancements made in our spring season, we are all ready to hit the field and show the school and community how far we have come. With a new freshman class and a couple of transfers, our team is becoming stronger than those of our previous years, and we only look forward to seeing what we can all achieve together as we move toward our fall season.
